President's Greetings
Message
Last year marked the beginning of a different era, a different challenge for CAUSA. The consensus when I was elected as your President was not to wait but rather act. It was no longer business as usual. So far we have seen and witnessed democracy in action during our meetings and we have acted and faced the challenges head on and with passion.
As your leader, I will continue to be bold, brave and aggressive. We all should be brave and aggressive together and try to push the envelope further than usual. Because this is our time and too much is at stake to just simply sit and wait.
Last years disaster in the Bicol Region and in Casiguran in particular with two super typhoons in Milenyo and Reming created adversity, and changed our focus and strategy. Now, we are not only thinking and acting in terms of new projects for the good of our people, but also fixing the old ones. CAUSA’s most prized and coveted project, the open gymnasium was heavily damaged by the storm at a tune of over Seven Hundred Thousand Pesos (P700, 000.00) and counting because of sky rocketing prices of materials and fuel. Alam nyo naman sa atin, pag taas ng gasoline, taas din ang presyo na lahat. By the time we are through here, it could be over P800, 000.00. We must address this seemingly insurmountable challenge with conviction and with renewed vigor.
Our new project and mandate in terms of educational purposes and scholarships has been started, and is in place and operational this year. I strongly believed and you should too, that education empowers children to have somewhat equal opportunity and level the playing field in one way or another. It will help them reach their goals in life and secure a much better future. This will be Causa’s defining moment and legacy.
It is more than necessary for us to work together. And I will not rest and you should not rest too until these projects are completed and we will all be satisfied of our performances as a team. We will deliver, no matter how much the odds are stacked up against us, no matter how much the distraction being imposed upon us from within.
Together we will prevail, and if in some distant and remote possibility that we fail, it will not be because of lack of efforts. We will come up swinging and even if we miss, we will keep scratching and fighting and we will not give up.
Thank you very much. Maraming salamat po. Salamatonon tabi sa indo gabos.
Tony Hapin Haw, Jr.
President
